KP is a rap unit from South Korea consisting of MC Jewon and MC Riyun. Their trademark is speed-driven tracks that lay rap over rock-style guitar sounds. They performed 'T.O.P', the ending theme for the final cour (episodes 40-52) of the TV anime 'Sonic X' Season 1, delivering a performance that perfectly matched the image of an ever-accelerating Sonic through the two rappers' propulsive flow and forward-looking, future-bound lyrics. The distinctive soundscape fusing an up-tempo melody with cool rap also conveyed a sensibility unique to an overseas act, and it is remembered as a striking song that closed out the final stretch of the series. Casting a rap unit for an anime ending was also a bold choice for its time.
