Takako Uehara is a female singer from Okinawa Prefecture. She debuted as a member of the girl group SPEED and is widely known as a singer who defined an era with her soaring, solid vocals. After the group went on hiatus she pursued a solo career, and her clear voice handles everything from ballads to grand, sweeping songs. In anime, she performed 'Galaxy Legend', the ending theme of 'Space Symphony Maetel: Galaxy Express 999 Gaiden', based on the work of Leiji Matsumoto. Composed by Taro Hakase, this magnificent number was sung with a nobility befitting Maetel's story of traveling the cosmos, bringing the show's world to a richly emotional close.
