Kumiko Osugi
Artist
A female vocalist who lent her voice to many classic anime themes of the 1970s. She is widely known for songs from sports dramas such as the opening of the pioneering volleyball anime 'Attack No.1' and the opening and ending ('Shiroi Tennis Court de') of the tennis-themed 'Aim for the Ace!'. Her ties to the World Masterpiece Theater works run especially deep: she colored those story worlds with her clear, warm voice in 'Mattete Goran' for 'Heidi, Girl of the Alps', 'Yoake no Michi' and 'Doko Made mo Arukoune' for 'A Dog of Flanders', and 'Sougen no Marco' and 'Kaasan Ohayou' for '3000 Leagues in Search of Mother'. Having also performed themes for 'Rascal the Raccoon' and 'Jetter Mars', she stands as one of the representative singers of the golden age of Showa-era anime.
