"Expelled from Paradise: Heart's Resonance" Announced — Mizushima x Urobuchi Reunite

A brand-new theatrical anime film "Expelled from Paradise: Heart's Resonance" (Rakuen Tsuiho: Kokoro no Resonance) has been announced. The first teaser PV and key visual have been revealed. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on November 13, 2026.

This is a completely new sequel to the 2014 theatrical anime "Expelled from Paradise." Director Seiji Mizushima and screenwriter Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus) reunite, bringing together the original staff to craft a new story.

The original "Expelled from Paradise" was set in a future where 98% of humanity has abandoned their physical bodies to live in a digital utopia called "DEVA." The story followed DEVA security agent Angela Balzac as she descends to Earth to track down a hacker called "Frontier Setter," ultimately awakening to the meaning of having a physical body and the value of freedom. Produced by Toei Animation as a full 3DCG animated feature, the film received critical acclaim.

The first key visual depicts Angela walking alone through a snowy landscape, her composed figure hinting at the beginning of a new adventure.
