The story follows J (Jay), a solitary hitman feared as "untouchable" in the underworld, and Megumi, a lonely girl with no place at home or school, as the two experience a body-swap switching life. The anime adaptation promises exciting action scenes and voice acting performances that the manga alone cannot express.
To celebrate the anime announcement, original creator Masao Otake shared a celebratory illustration along with a comment. His full message reads:
"The anime adaptation of 'J⇔M' has been confirmed! Thank you so much. I think 'J⇔M' will offer a different kind of enjoyment from the manga when it becomes animation, especially with the action scenes. Since it's a body-swap story, I believe the voice acting in particular will bring a fun element that the manga simply can't achieve. I'm personally looking forward to that. However, I imagine it must be quite challenging for the voice actors who have to play swapped roles, so I sincerely apologize. Do your best!"
What kind of life will the two lead after swapping bodies? Fans can look forward to more updates as both the manga and anime continue to build excitement.
The latest volume 7 of the original manga is set for release on March 13, 2026, with volumes 1–6 currently available from Harta Comics.
