The teaser visual depicts Koyou, a young physician raising a surgical instrument high in the air, alongside Crown Prince Keiun and a goat, set against the stone pavement of the royal court.
The story is set in Gekkakoku, a kingdom where treatments for illness and injury have yet to be established and people rely on prayers and medicinal brews. One day, Crown Prince Haku Keiun is attacked by assassins while visiting Ranshu, and his attendant Ryu Shiei is gravely wounded. Searching for someone who can treat him, Keiun calls on Kaku Koyou, a girl who calls herself a physician — and with the never-before-seen technique of suturing wounds with needle and thread, she heals Shiei's injuries. Won over by her skill, Keiun invites her to the capital. A lonely crown prince and a beautiful young physician armed with vast knowledge, extraordinary memory and an obsession with muscles weave what the press release calls a "muscle-packed medical fantasy."
A teaser PV has also been released, offering a first look at the anime's footage, including Koyou with needle and thread in hand.
