A television anime produced by Studio L (Sutajio Eru), adapting the imperial-court medical fantasy manga "Gekkakoku Kiiden" by Toru Himuka, serialized in KADOKAWA's "ASUKA" magazine (Asuka Comics DX; volumes 1-15 currently on sale). Set in the fictional kingdom of Gekkakoku, where herbal decoctions dominate the medical landscape, the story begins when Koyo — a young girl unusually skilled in surgical techniques including suturing — meets Crown Prince Keiun. With Koyo's quirky obsession with muscles, Keiun's earnest demeanor, Koyo's assistant Sungdam, and Keiun's attendant Tokiei rounding out the colorful cast, the series unfolds as a slapstick court-medicine comedy. Directed by Koichiro Kuroda, with series composition by Aki Mizuki, character design by Akira Ono, sound direction by Hozumi Goda, music by Shiho Terada, and music production by HIGHWAY STAR.
