A TV anime adaptation of Amamori Takibi's light novel -- a fresh take on the 'losing heroine' youth story genre. The protagonist Nukumizu Kazuhiko, a low-profile presence in his class, keeps getting entangled with 'losing heroines' -- girls who have lost their romantic pursuits, nicknamed 'MakeIn.' Heroines with distinct personalities including Yanami Anna, Yakishio Lemon, and Komari Chika are depicted as they face forward despite each carrying the weight of heartbreak. The beautiful animation by A-1 Pictures and the careful direction capturing the bittersweet flavor of youth earned high praise. The OP theme is 'Tsuyogaru Girl feat. Mossa (Necry Talkie)' by Bocchi Boromaru. The ED theme features different J-POP cover songs for each heroine, and the selection of songs also became a talking point.
