The first part of a two-part theatrical anime based on Inio Asano's manga, set in a bizarre world where the massive spacecraft called the 'mothership' that appeared above Tokyo has become part of everyday life. In a Tokyo where the sight of the mothership floating overhead has become the norm, Kadode Koyama and Ouran Nakagawa, known as 'Ontan,' go about their ordinary student lives with their homeroom teacher Watarase and friends, but behind the scenes, unsettling events are quietly unfolding. Its distinctive style, where a slice-of-life atmosphere coexists with a sci-fi sense of apocalypse, earned high acclaim. The theme song is 'Zezzezzezzettai Seiiki' by ano feat. Lilas Ikuta.
