NieR:Automata Ver1.1a is a TV anime based on the popular action RPG NieR:Automata developed by Square Enix and PlatinumGames. Yoko Taro, the original game's director, participates as series compositor and scriptwriter. Animation production is handled by A-1 Pictures. In the year 5012 AD, aliens descended upon Earth and created "machine lifeforms" whose overwhelming force drove humanity to retreat to the Moon. Combat android 2B, a member of the "YoRHa" unit, is dispatched alongside support unit 9S to wage a fierce battle to reclaim Earth. Amid an endless war against endlessly proliferating machine lifeforms, 2B and her companions confront their own reason for existence and the truth of their world.
