Over a month has passed since being trapped in the death game "Sword Art Online." Having cleared the 1st Floor with Kirito, Asuna continues fighting toward the top floor. However, on the front lines of progression, the conflict between the two major guilds—ALS (Aincrad Liberation Squad) and DKB (Dragon Knights Brigade)—deepens, and a mysterious figure operating behind the scenes draws Asuna and Kirito into danger. As a sequel to "Aria of a Starless Night," the film depicts the clearing of Aincrad's 5th Floor.
