The Detective Is Already Dead

A TV anime produced by ENGI, based on the light novel by Nigojuu published under KADOKAWA's MF Bunko J imprint, with illustrations by Umibouzu. The series has surpassed 1 million copies in circulation (as of 2022). The story follows Kimizuka Kimihiko, a boy with a knack for getting caught up in trouble, who becomes the assistant of Siesta, an angelic detective girl, aboard a plane at 10,000 meters altitude. For three years, they travel the world fighting "the enemies of the world." However, Siesta eventually dies, and one year later, clients appear before Kimizuka, now a third-year high school student. Together with Nagisa Natsunagi, a girl who received Siesta's heart transplant, and idol Yui Saikawa, he takes on the remaining mysteries. The series spans 12 episodes with a one-hour premiere special.
