Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night is a theatrical anime film produced by A-1 Pictures. Based on the light novel "Sword Art Online: Progressive" by Reki Kawahara, published by Dengeki Bunko (KADOKAWA). The series has surpassed 30 million copies in worldwide circulation as of 2022. Set in 2022, the story follows Asuna (CV: Haruka Tomatsu) from her perspective as one of 10,000 players trapped in the world's first VRMMORPG "Sword Art Online." The film depicts her friendship and parting with the movie-original character Mito (CV: Inori Minase), and her fateful encounter with Kirito (CV: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka). Directed by Ayako Kawano, with character design and chief animation direction by Kento Toya, and music by Yuki Kajiura. The theme song "Yuke" is performed by LiSA. Runtime: 97 minutes.
