Nobunaga the Fool is an original TV anime created and chief-directed by Shoji Kawamori, aired from January 2014. Produced by Satelight, this grand sci-fi fantasy features two worlds—the Star of the East (Sengoku-era Japan) and the Star of the West (medieval Europe)—locked in conflict using giant robots called "War Armors." The story follows Oda Nobunaga, the "Great Fool" of the Eastern Star, who meets Jeanne d'Arc from the Western Star as they embark on a battle for the fate of the world. The series features a unique world-building where historical heroes appear alongside tarot card motifs. 24 episodes.
