Knights of Sidonia is a TV anime based on Tsutomu Nihei's manga serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine, with over 4 million copies in circulation. Aired from April 2014, this full 3DCG anime produced by Polygon Pictures is a hard sci-fi depicting the remnants of humanity aboard the massive spaceship "Sidonia" fleeing from the mysterious lifeforms "Gauna" that destroyed the solar system. Garde pilot Nagate Tanikaze takes on fierce battles against the Gauna. The series earned high acclaim domestically and internationally for its realistic mecha depictions and hardcore sci-fi setting. 12 episodes.
