"NEEDLESS" is a TV anime produced by Madhouse, based on the manga by Kami Imai serialized in Shueisha's "Ultra Jump." The series aired from July to December 2009 for 24 episodes. Directed by Masayuki Sakoi. Set in 2130, fifty years after World War III, the story takes place in the "Black Spot" contaminated wasteland. Some outcasts have gained superpowers called "Fragments."
